Well, if someone else is doing fireworks, I’ll go see, but I value my fingers and hearing too much to DIY it. But there is nothing like fireworks on Easter to warm the heart. Or on Arbor Day, or National Salsa Dancing Day (March 11th, mark your calendars. Also, don’t confuse it with National Salsa Day — honoring the spicy condiment on May 1st.) Nothing says holiday like fireworks.

PROMPT: Cooking Fail
Write about your most epic baking or cooking fail.
A blunder once in a while does not rise to tragedy. I burn toast on a regular basis. Think about that. It’s the most rudimentary culinary activity imaginable, and I fuck it up at least weekly.
To be fair, I think my toaster might be a North Korean imposter, part of a plot to undermine the Western Capitalist world one ruined breakfast at a time.
PROMPT: Lesson
Few things in life matter as much as they feel they do. Almost nothing is perilous, while many things feel as though they are. Don’t let illusory feelings keep one from living boldly.
Or, as the Epicureans liked to say, “What is painful is easy to endure.”
PROMPT: Foods
Those that are authentic to wherever I am at the moment. [Nothing fancy, but with nutritional value.]
PROMPT: Walk or Run
How often do you walk or run?
Daily. I don’t live in an aquarium (thus allowing swimming as the predominant mode of transport,) nor am I a potted plant that stays where I’m set. Also, flying is out of the question, except in an airplane.
PROMPT: Leader
Do you see yourself as a leader?
Neither a follower nor a leader be.
PROMPT: Favorite Word
What’s your favorite word?
“Sword” is “words” with a simple swap where the word leapfrogs its ass, and yet they are unrhymable with each other. That’s a word with some sort of voodoo magic.
PROMPT: This Evening
What are you doing this evening?
Who can know such things? I’m not a fortuneteller. But as I just came off a travel cycle, a betting person would put his money on something sleep related.
PROMPT: Personality Trait
Dogmatic thinking and the humor blindspots that correspond.
PROMPT: Ideal Week
My ideal week would consist of seven days, each day of about twenty-four hours. You could fit four of them in a month with room to spare.
