My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
So was it when my life began;
So is it now I am a man;
So be it when I shall grow old,
Or let me die!
The Child is father of the Man;
And I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety.
thistles are flowering,
looking spiky and dangerous,
yet soft and comely
two streams join:
one black and one tan --
the lighter moves on.
deep brown river
drags many fields’ of soil
to the sea each day.
bees pace the
narrow blooms of wildflowers,
working like it's play.
the graveyard weeds
are blossoming in yellow
to garland the tombs.
An evergreen and a red, red rose:
One slowly, but dully, ever grows;
One springs to life only for a short time.
Lifespan pine and beauty rose, apposed?
And risk vice versa? One never knows!
the Spring pond
is teeming with tiny fish;
which will see Summer?
