“A Minor Bird” by Robert Frost [w/ Audio]

I have wished a bird would fly away,
And not sing by my house all day;

Have clapped my hands at him from the door
When it seemed as if I could bear no more.

The fault must partly have been in me.
The bird was not to blame for his key.

And of course there must be something wrong
In wanting to silence any song.

Stand Strong [Haiku]

overflown banks:
trees stand strong
against the flow.

Spring Snow [Haiku]

late Spring:
a dust of snow remains
on green mountains.

White Columns [Haiku]

white columns
rise from a mountain lake:
once mighty pines.

Mental Scaling [Haiku]

grass tufts blur to trees.

Heron at Dusk [Haiku]

dusky summer eve:
a heron wades in shallows,
blindly fishing.

Orbit [Haiku]

butterflies orbit
in helter-skelter arcs,
but never bump.

Chital [Lyric Poem]

The Chital at the watering hole
Has one single simple goal:
To drink its fill and then to scat
Before being eaten by some big cat.
