Flower Fall [Haiku]

rain-laden blossom
falls… lands with a sound,
in the mud.

Bee [Lyric Poem]

I see the humble bumble bee,
Or should I say I see its rump.
It snugged in, made itself cozy --
To get away it's far too plump.

Cliff’s Edge Poppy [Haiku]

at cliff's edge,
the swaying red poppy,
lures one closer.

The Lily [Haiku]

a single lily
stands out in a pond of pads:
bright to browned.

“Ah! Sun-flower” by William Blake [w/ Audio]

Ah Sun-flower! weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the Sun:
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the travellers journey is done.

Where the Youth pined away with desire,
And the pale Virgin shrouded in snow:
Arise from their graves and aspire,
Where my Sun-flower wishes to go.

Withered Beauty [Haiku]

petals curling,
the flower will not yield
beauty at the core.

Flower Sellers [Haiku]

amidst bright colors
and fragrant aromas:
sense overload.

Spider Hibiscus [Haiku]

spider hibiscus
dangles over the pond;
like an ornate lure.

Thistle Flowers [Haiku]

thistles are flowering,
looking spiky and dangerous,
yet soft and comely

Pine & Rose [Lyric Poem]

An evergreen and a red, red rose:
One slowly, but dully, ever grows;
One springs to life only for a short time.
Lifespan pine and beauty rose, apposed?
And risk vice versa? One never knows!
