Everywhen, All In One Place [Haiku]
fallen leaves skitter
as grass sprouts in twined roots:
all seasons at once.

Stumbling Urban [Haiku]
over a ridge,
and a sprawling city grows
into my wilderness.

Rocky Outcrop [Tanka]
the rocky tip
of grass-coiffed outcrop
is all I see,
but the sound of a crow's "CAW!"
comes through loud & clear.

Evergreen? [Tanka]
"the trees are green!"
except when blue, white, or black:
in morning sun,
in peak sun, in moonlight,
under dense clouds, or no clouds.

Foggy Stream [Lyric]
A thick cloud nestled into the
valley down below,
I wonder if the forager
in that streambed knows
that it's sunny above.

“Afternoon on a Hill” by Edna St. Vincent Millay [w/ Audio]
I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.
I will look at cliffs and clouds
With quiet eyes,
Watch the wind bow down the grass,
And the grass rise.
And when lights begin to show
Up from the town,
I will mark which must be mine,
And then start down!

Staggering [Haiku]
hill slope trees
like staggering figures:
soon swallowed in fog.

PROMPT: Excited
Tell us about the last thing you got excited about.
Going for a walk this morning. (I’m like a dog that way…. except I don’t pee during my walks… usually.)
