Two Faces of Spring [Haiku]

Gust [Haiku]

Photograph taken at Pai Canyon near Pai, Thailand.
Autumn gust
sends leaf fluttering --
cat paws at it.

Wind Snitch [Free Verse]

Photograph of a wind turbine under blue skies. Taken along the highway between Budapest and Vienna.
The straight-stemmed turbines
are tattletales,
telling all about the stealthy
thief sneaking overhead.

With no clouds in the sky,
the wind could slip
out over the treetops,
and no one would know.

But the turbines turn,
slow as Taiji titans,
letting no movement
go untaxed.

Stoic Tears [Haiku]

Photograph taken atop Kaurava Kunda Hill in Karnataka, India.
buffeted by wind --
hunched & leaning windward,
stoic tears roll.

Summer Fluff [Haiku]

gone to fluff:
flowers quietly await a
good, stiff breeze.

Petal Drop [Senryū]

dogeared petal
can take no more --
flutters in a gust.

Dancing Daisies [Haiku]

bright flowers
dance in a breeze,
beside the castle wall.

Solitary [Haiku]

solitary flower
bows in a Spring breeze --
then stands upright.

“I fear’d the fury of my wind” by William Blake [w/ Audio]

I fear’d the fury of my wind
Would blight all blossoms fair & true,
And my sun it shin’d & shin’d,
And my wind it never blew.

But a blossom fair or true
Was not found on any tree;
For all blossoms grew & grew
Fruitless, false, tho’ fair to see.
