Monitor [Lyric]

A Monitor Lizard strolls through the park --
A mid-day stroll, not at dusk or after dark.
The walkers and joggers give it wide berth
As it monitors them for all its worth.

Pigeons [Lyric Poem]

There’s a writhing pile of pigeons —
Not two or a few or a smidgen —
You can raise their clout, and call them doves,
But I’m glad they're not on the wires above.

PROMP: Skip

What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?

Jumprope.

(Also, going to the loo.)

DAILY PHOTO: Flor de La Mar

The Flor de La Mar was a Portuguese ship laden with loot stolen from Malacca when it sunk. This scale replica is a museum (Muzium Sumadera) in Malacca.

African Tulip [Haiku]

dense bloom clusters
of one week are a carpet
on the ground the next.

PROMPT: Expensive

Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).

Wedding ring? Probably. Possibly a sword.

Ostrich [Lyric Poem]

For the Ostrich, I feel quite bad:
The bird's great gift, it never had.
But, a flighted one, I don't wish to see;
I'd hate to have a falling one land on me.

PROMPT: Screentime

How do you manage screen time for yourself?

Many ways, really: e.g. Go for a walk or otherwise move. Forget it exists. When the WiFi goes down, take it as a sign from the universe. Juggle. Do something productive.
