waves roll over with a soft crashing white noise that splays out into a sizzle as foamy water expands flatly over hot sand until the sizzle is washed out by the next wet crash and then more sizzle and then more crash sizzle & crash crash & sizzle

diverge, and i wonder
if there’s a story
a spider scurries
across the sand, without
dislodging a grain
tracks in sand stretch dune after dune; no life in sight
The kids struck out for the white sands of Cancun, but to avoid throngs they went at high noon. A crowd, there was not. It was so freakin' hot that each and every last one of them swooned.
