Shade [Haiku]

school of fish 
becomes one super-fish
in a boat's shade.

Patience [Haiku]

perched egret
clears a window in pond scum,
and waits — statue-like!

Pigeon King [Haiku]

pigeons mill about --
then one finds color
in the gray city.

One Eye [Senryū]

cat stares
through one good eye,
like a bond villain.

pansy patch:
rabbit noses out,
sniffing air.

on the cobbles

sparrows peck.

the land rests
after the harvest;

hilltop temple
comes into view
to a crow CAW!

Coiled [Haiku]

neck coiled,
egret hovers stock still
to snap up a fish.
