cactus thorns
in symmetrical pairs,
like wee bull horns

infinite shades
of yellow-orange
in each petal

a false blossom,
 that crawls with wasps, hangs
  from a bare branch

two-season tropics:
rain-slick yellow leaves
fib that it's autumn

ripe grain turns gold,
the year has matured like a
person going gray

Buddha is still;
the clouds wander...
one crow caws

the moment before
a sneaky monkey
makes mischief

ice crystals form
on helicopter seed pods;
will they fly or crash?

young rice in mud
awaits paddy flooding rains;
i seek shelter

sunflowers 
huddle together;
the sun hides
