CANADA LIMERICK

There was a hockey player from Canada
who was entirely lacking in stamina.
He shot like a sniper,
but breathing was hyper,
He got outskated by dear old grand-ma-ma.

Sympathetic Flow [Common Meter]

The stone man flows; the snake creeps down -
arm becoming viper.
It's slow, but silently it flows,
stealthy as a sniper.

And though he's stone, I feel him go
via sympathetic flow.
Mirror neurons fire in my brain,
taking me high to low...

or so it feels.

Toronto Limerick

A man hopped in a cab in Toronto,
and said, "Get me to Yonge Street, pronto!"
"I'll need more detail,
it's a matter of scale,
that road cuts forty miles thru Toronto."

Montreal Limerick

There was a hungry man from Montreal
who ate Poutine 'til he could only crawl
the snack in question
gave him indigestion,
and sealed his colon like a stonewall.

Canadian Limerick

There was an old lady from Canada
who was a hockey aficionada.
She couldn’t still skate,
but always shot straight —
firing in place like the Spanish Armada.

This sculpture by Ju Ming is apparently called “Single Whip,” though it reminds me more of “Snake Creeps Down” because of it’s downward slope of the arms. At any rate, it can be found in Victoria Square in downtown Montreal.
