frogs plop in water
 faster than my eye can see:
  a blur — kerplunk!

this odd little shrub
 grows snails like seed pods:
  or so it seems.

twin butterflies 
 spiral around each other
  with spastic gravity.

diligent spider 
 works its catch
  into a meal.

in stillness,
 the mantis becomes
  vegetation.
