Spider Gawker [Haiku]

an orb weaver
sets its trap by trail’s edge, &
catches one gawker

Lopburi Limerick

There was a hasty driver from Lopburi
who wasn't fond of the residents, furry.
"Get off my damn back
about the macaques,
they lollygag whenever I'm in a hurry!"

Crow’s Eye [Haiku]

the crow's eye
remains glued on me
as its head swivels

Bold Butterflies [Haiku]

two butterflies
stand their ground on the path,
despite footfall quakes

Red Bug Orgy [Haiku]

two red bugs mate
on one side of a tree;
on the other: orgy

Wasp & Ant [Haiku]

a wasp & an ant
converge on a cloying plant
blithe on each other

Nesting Birds [Haiku]

nesting birds
unmoved by their reflected
doppelgängers

Dragonfly [Kyōka]

the dragonfly
is still, and I wonder
whether it's dead,
and further wonder whether
anyone has thought that of me

Ant’s Eye View [Lyric Poem]

How much grander must the world seem
closer to the ground,
a grass forest within the forest
with layered forest sounds?

Or would one be cut off from
the vaulted dome of sky,
and have one’s world shrink to
the limits of one’s eye?

If an ant thought it saw everything,
but only viewed a slice,
would its tiny ant mind have contracted a basic human vice?
