branches aren't budding,
 but shoots are sprouting 
  under dead leaves.

two bodies 
 orbiting each other:
  without distance, crash.

statue gazes down
 as if viewing the painting
  by trees on water

a plank of wood
 floats downriver past houses
  clustered on the bank.

a Seagull stands 
 at a respectful distance
  from a fish stall,
 waiting for the fishmonger
 to do the right thing.

chubby squirrel
 scampers across crusty snow --
  crunchlessly!

at days end,
 clouds not burning bright white
  sink into black.

bloom-laden Cherry
 tree attracts no viewers;
  the last blossom does.

fly in Summer,
 buzzes around a cow --
  dodging whip-tail.

under thick moss,
 two tiny mushrooms cause
  sunburst guitar-mind.
