and send shimmers of light
between the black spaces

sunlight fires up
one patch of fall color
engulfed by shadelands

city lights
cast a many-colored glow 
between dark spaces

sunlit white temple
reflects in pond water
in cooler hues

saffron-clad men
wash the Bahubali’s feet;
its eyes forward
