mossy rocks
catch the afternoon sun:
dark & light facets

of all things for which
 “just a little is enough:”
  1.) human beings

a tree on the shore, 
 in stony ground & briny
  water, thrives!

the crab that scurries
 when i come within ten feet,
  caught unaware by waves

the kingfisher
 surveys the Arabian Sea
  in kingly fashion

one shaggy branch
 cranes out over the shore,
  receives light reward

pooled water,
 like liquid metal 
  in waning light

a boulder teeters
 on a cliff face, awaiting 
  Wile E. Coyote

a perfect wave
 dashes onto the rocks.
  the next one? who knows!

two crows wrestle,
 spiraling to the ground.
  big, black maple seed
