polishes river rocks
glossy smooth

still river,
mirroring the colors
of autumn

bright pink flowers,
staring 'til they blur -
my mind quiets

the sound of rain
begins to speed up;
then steadies

the sage's staff
swings like a pendulum
in a clockwork walk

clouds drift;
a boy traces shapes with a
pointing finger

sheep graze.
 bleats sound like words to
the lonely hiker

 lush valley.
a solitary hiker 
walks through

coffee estate.
one yellow plant stands out
from a wall of green

green seed pods
blush to blood red,
then split open
