Spring Break [Haiku]

distant hills
are now green & rain clouds
have fragmented.

Spring Green [Haiku]

grass, shaggy & green,
sprawls across the valley;
swallows race & jink.

Flower Sellers [Haiku]

amidst bright colors
and fragrant aromas:
sense overload.

Flashy Lascar [Senryū]

tiny lascar,
sitting on a small leaf,
not blending -- at all.

Desert Hedge [Lyric Poem]

On the arid
desert's edge,
Stands a scrubby
shrubby hedge
That's always green
and never brown,
But it turns black
when Sun goes down.

Flower Cascade [Haiku]

pink flowers cascade
over a quiet pond:
feels like Spring

Speakeasy Stained-glass [Free Verse]

The light of a streetlamp
Streams through the stained glass,
And colors spread stably
Over surfaces below.

Then car after car
Pass by that bar,
And the colors are
Climbing and crawling,
Shifting and sprawling,
As headlamp light, briefly,
Dances through the window --
Kaleidoscope swirling the
Shockingly bright colors
In short-lived arcs.

The window was designed
To evoke a cathedral,
And deny all debauchery...

Oh, how it's failed.

Tiny Island [Haiku]

a tiny island
of blue wildflowers
in a sea of yellow.

Spring Tricks [Haiku]

early Spring leaves,
catching the morning light,
look Autumn yellow.
