a lily blossom
hovers like a dragonfly
over a pad quilt

in the flatlands,
sprawling waters and vast skies
make for wee truss bridges

rock erodes 
out from under boulders --
precarious stacks

bougainvillea
tops the city walls;
xenophobia softened

the moon remains high,
unchased by the sunrise, but
gone by daydream's end

a potted bonsai --
twisted, knobbed, and deformed --
stony mountain mind

the bull starts to trot
down the middle of the road,
and the road clears

one flower
stands, rumpled & in the rear,
but is just as bright

the river churns;
lit by the mid-day sun --
its foam glows

a sunflower.
the spiral of its florets
claims perfection
