Tiger Riding for Beginners

Traveling Poet Philosopher & Occasional Wiseacre

pooled water,
 like liquid metal
  in waning light

a boulder teeters
 on a cliff face, awaiting
  Wile E. Coyote

a perfect wave
 dashes onto the rocks.
  the next one? who knows!

two crows wrestle,
 spiraling to the ground.
  big, black maple seed

the one true sun
 rises over the lake;
  imposters abound

false cracks and shine
to look like a pile of rocks,
  the turtle's shell

the Immovable
 lives amid impermanence,
  so, in time, he'll move.

frowzy & wonky,
 yet bright & beautiful:
  mexican flamevine

a thin band of
 reality erasure,
  haze on the lake.

nodding, old man style,
 why struggle to stay awake?
  a sleepy dog.
