the sun sets
 into a narrow glade:
  rolling downslope.

bird at work:
 flitting branch to branch,
  seeking perfect seeds.

deer eyes walker.
 jumbo jets scream overhead,
  but it heard stick crack.

lurch & stop:
 the bee moves erratically
  amid yellow blooms.

Pac-Men multiply:
 sought by too few upside-down 
  lily “ghosts.”

water flows - mutely -
 below the train which roars 
  through, hourly

one butterfly:
 with so many eyes 
  that cannot see.

weary sunflowers
 turn their backs on the sun:
  heads bowed.

late Summer: 
 the last days before 
  reed heads fluff.

fallen blossoms
 carpet the ground,
  mottled by sunlight.
