old wasp nest:
 looks like the whole hive
  hulked its way out.

the sky 's afire:
 a day's death throes;
  bugs mourn loudly.

bee-eater sits still --
 not searching, not flitting:
  worried of bee's plight?

a still dragonfly 
 looks perched & ready,
  but then falls dead.

a plain, green plant
 crawls with bees-o-plenty: 
  despite no bright blooms.

a hive of wasps,
 each one frenetic:
  do they never rest?

 the wasp jinks erratically.
  pilgrims break sanctity.

  stands stock still.

a dragonfly lands
on a lotus seed head
without making sway
