the river trickles.
 but its broad shoulders tell 
 of expectations.

in the dark valley,
 eyes settle on the one hilltop
 graced by sunlight.

a walk in the park:
 i breathe, we breathe,
 then we are breath.

waves crash ashore,
 churning waves to foam,
 white coastal frill.

clouds dance around
 the gibbous moon’s bright orb,
  one warm winter night.

under gray skies,
 the flooded paddies
  amplify winter gloom.

a pair of blossoms -
 all that's left on the tree:
 two blooms - side-by-side.

the tree sprawls,
 over the mountain trail, yet
 winter rains pass through.

opera singers
 sing a duet on the trail:
 acoustics quest?

gray day river --
 the exposed riverbed 
 shows only by tracks
