a drunk staggers
 around the corner, and stares
  into the full moon.

warm pre-dusk light
 glows through yellow blossoms;
   sundown sneaks nearer.

snow has fallen.
 cars of many colors, all white:
  a piano-esque lot.

wind gusts & rain
 turn the placid pond 
  turbulent.

a swallowtail
 lands on a thorny thistle,
  resting in comfort.

a fisherman
 casts his line while leaning
  his back to a tree.

a butterfly
 lurches flower to flower;
  never settling.

wind buffeted:
 the coast is vibrant green
  but wintery cold.

Winter drains color
 from the barren woods, but
  tall grass turns gold.

goose at water's edge:
 cold river flows around
  unmoving legs.
