Fade to Black [Haiku]

the coral-hued lake
will soon be the inky void
between coastal lights.

Yellow Field [Haiku]

a yellow field
stands warm & bright, even
under rain clouds.

“Silver” by Walter de la Mare [w/ Audio]

Slowly, silently, the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon;
This way, and that, she peers, and sees
Silver fruit upon silver trees;
One by one the casements catch
Her beams beneath the silvery thatch;
Couched in his kennel, like a log,
With paws of silver sleeps the dog;
From their shadowy cote the white breasts peep
Of doves in a silver-feathered sleep;
A harvest mouse goes scampering by,
With silver claws, and silver eye;
And moveless fish in the water gleam,
By silver reeds in a silver stream.

Not the Face! [Senryū]

a young skink's
vibrant cobalt blue tail
says, "Not the Face!"

Green Fields [Haiku]

the rice fields
are at their most verdant;
scent of rain.

Yellow Glade [Haiku]

i follow the light
out of the woods and into
a yellow glade.

Autumn Mind [Haiku]

paper lanterns
in the Daoist temple
turn my mind to Fall.

Spring Dream [Haiku]

one pink-laden tree
stands amid a wall
of spring greenery.

Red [Haiku]

the turning leaves
catch the morning sunlight
to show depths of red.

Psychedelia at First Light [Lyric Poem]

When early morning sunlight warms
The vibrant lakeside greenery,
All of those cave-like lakeside trails
turn psychedelic scenery.

The leaves become so translucent
Butterfly and bee silhouettes
Stretch out at distorted angles --
Beasts beyond being caught with nets.

Despite being sober and fresh
The mind reels or seeks to reset.
