What’s the hardest decision you’ve ever had to make? Why?

Whether or not to watch Sophie’s Choice. Because it might diminish the difficulty of all future choices.

PROMPT: Fate / Destiny

Do you believe in fate/destiny?

No. Life would be hard to bear if one believed one were just playing out a program, and was not a free agent.

That said, I can’t say I have enough information to have a strong belief in the opposite (i.e. free will.)

So, like a number of other big philosophical questions, it is one for which I prefer ignorance over delusion.

Oh, they sang about the world’s end —
felt it must be around the bend,
but the world, itself, was a stinkin’ lie.

False choices: live free and do or die.
Dying was always one option,
but like birthing or adoption,

choice assumed life and death could be controlled
like alchemists turning lead into gold.
