Missing Kittens [Tanka]

a momma cat
  mews many times to its
   missing kittens.
 with each unanswered call,
 momma grows more insistent.

Cat Wrangling [Haiku]

a mother cat
 turns to consider whether
  to wrangle kittens

Cat Conformity [Senryū]

the cat that conforms
to a hollow in the wall
won't conform elsewise

All-Seeing Feline [Haiku]

a cat on a ledge
peers down with rapt focus.
looking for… what?

Napper / Stalker [Haiku]

from a sound nap,
the cat's attention becomes
single-pointed

The Sleeping Cat [Tanka]

the sleeping cat
yanks its head up to see
what fell & why,
and then goes back to sleep --
master slumberer at work

POEM: Silly Cat

I think you know my silly cat

It perches on heads like a hat

It catches critters and sets them free

cause it finds canned food more tasty,

but it loves the sport of the hunt

and can perform acrobatic stunts

between bouts of blissful slumber

POEM: Kittens Can’t Get Their Legs

Little kittens can’t get their legs.

Feet slide as legs sprawl wide.

Writhing amid a pile of siblings.

Wrangled and nudged by mama.

Tiny screams for leeway ungranted.

Bellies bulge with mama’s milk.

They don’t yet look like miniature cats.

They have neither the proportions nor the ears.

They could as well be puppies or opossums.

From any distance mama sanctions.
