the dog-eared daisies
that stand at bamboo's base
still warm the mind

through the bamboo
snowcaps catch the morning sun --
what bamboo?

a gnarled old tree -
set against a backdrop 
of fanned bamboo

the tilting boat
slips the nipa labyrinth
with silent ease

golden bamboo
creaks & clacks in the wind,
and then is silent

once bats hung
on swaying bamboo
now cut down

clustered bamboo,
a dark hiding spot
on sunny days

flex like bamboo
and grow like bamboo —
be bamboo
