 but then it never gets high
  this time of year.

sun shimmer
 in a dense patch looks like
  a sheet of ice.

the sun sets
 into a narrow glade:
  rolling downslope.

 painting sky & river --

a dog day ends,

low afternoon sun
 makes the old mountains
  look crisply creased.

the sun so bright
 that not only water glows
  but, also, the sand

the one true sun
 rises over the lake;
  imposters abound

the moon is up;
yet the sun is not yet down:
scheduling fail!

low clouds reflected
on still seas; a perfect view
on sunset's timer
