Not at all. The “why not” wasn’t meant rhetorically. (It was lazy, but not defensive.) I’m just not sure what I’m missing. There seems to be a presumption that I should value some other thing above or more fundamentally than my mind / body. Perhaps, I should, but I’m not sure what it is. If you have a suggestion, I’d be happy to hear it.

Let me share this: I recently enjoyed a talk by a Dutch/Japanese shaman women with strong roots in Buddhism (which I don’t share) and she spoke of the need to both return to self and to make a contribution to our world in transition… that resonates with me, urging me on to be more authentically present and fight off all forces trying to stop me, right now…)
