I
beware the wolf
wearing sheep’s clothing,
but – more likely –
you’ll meet sheep wearing
wolf attire while talking shit
II
light green leaves,
in early amber light,
flare brightly,
drawing the eye from
mundane forest greens
III
a lone tree,
standing atop a hill
doesn’t feel lonely;
a nexus is assumed —
invisible or not

LOVE that first one, LOL.

Very nice! This is new style for me. Can you do series of Tanka?

Technically, these are more Kyoka than Tanka. (Tanka are like haiku and should be purely observational without any analytical/judgemental aspect.
No reason one can’t do groups of poems. For very short fixed-form styles (haiku, senryu, etc.) I often do multiples – often, but not always, with a common theme.

Kyoka is a new word & form for me. So can we do triplets for Haiku as well?

You could write as many as you like. There’s a practice, renya, where a pairing of people write them in alternating, round-robin sequences.

There’s a great book called “The Haiku Handbook” (Higginson) that covers haiku and related forms in great detail with excellent examples. But I don’t know if it’s still in print or has an ebook edition.
