twisted and bent
to gnarled beauty

arched bridge
forms a wide eye
with water’s mirror


III
the garden
designed, aligned, and kempt —
nature, but not


IV
peace-filled
by tranquil sights —
soul programmed


V
sitting on grass,
the rocky outcrop
turns island
