Pushkar Lake is in the background, and this is on the walk down toward the ghats. This is a particularly tidy piece of the town owing to its proximity to the sacred lake and a temple thereof.
The pic is a little overexposed, but I like it nonetheless.

This is a parade procession that we passed as we were walking out to a couple of the Eastern Group of Temples at Khajuraho.
It was pretty typical, a tractor with a squawky loudspeaker playing music at about 100db beyond the speaker’s rating, pulling a trailer with a figure. There was color throwing and garlands. The works.

I just got back from a trip to Khajuraho, Varanasi, and Sarnath, and I’ll be resuming posts–starting with pictures from this visit. Here is one of one of the details on the roof of one of the Western Group of temples. (The Western Group are the most well-preserved and extensive of the surviving temples.)
