This was taken with a cheap underwater camera while snorkeling off Ambergris Caye in Belize. The fish align themselves in the shadows of boats. The water is shallow there, and so the sun blazes off the white sand on the bottom. The fish apparently have a hard time getting fishtan lotion, and need to take advantage of any shadow they can get.
Did you make it over to Tobago? I’ve always wanted to explore that region. Great shot!

No. I’ve never been to Tobago. Actually, I’ve not traveled to any of the Caribbean Island-States as of yet, just to several of the landlocked states surrounding the Caribbean (and the offshore islands of those landlocked states.)

It’s a great place to visit. Belize City is a bit of a pit, but the rest of the country is beautiful, inland as well as the Cayes.

Where’s your favorite spot on the globe, thus far? Mine is the Aegean Sea.

I’m not very favorite-oriented. I try to love where I am at the moment. If I had to limit my foreign travels to one country, China probably has more that I still want to see than any other country. I’ve only been to the Beijing area, but I’d like to travel to Hubei, Henan, Tibet, etc.
Among countries I’ve traveled in fairly extensively, Peru and Thailand were both pretty awe-inspiring.
