Yes..the earthquake happned in 2015 or 16, i guess. It was such a pity to see so many ancient temples and sculptures razed to the ground. Am told the re-building process is on.
Slowly but surely. We had friends who were there at the time. Fortunately, they were out rafting at the time well away from Kathmandu and they didn’t even notice the quakes, but driving back into Kathmandu was like a war zone. It had to be a surreal experience leaving town with everything normal and coming back to the aftermath of those quakes. They were in town for some of the aftershocks.
So this was after the deadly Nepal earthquake…right?

Yes, I think it was two years after, but a lot of the structures were still enveloped in scaffolding or being braced up.
