I don’t know what it is exactly. It’s some kind of seed pod that grows on a tree in clusters of 4 or more. They start out green and then turn red and split open, bearing a black or dark colored fruit. I tried to look it up with Google Images, but had no luck. I don’t think it’s related to the ghost chilli at all, but I could be wrong.

I think it is Sterculia Foetida, i.e. Jungli Badam or something related to it. In English commonly called a “Peanut Tree.”
