Have been lucky to visit the gorgeous city of Helsinki twice. And do have fond memories of wandering the fortress grounds on a very early spring day, & looking down on the `swimming beach’ covered in snow.

Oh yes it is! I was in Finland this year in the beginning of May (May is spring, right, at least supposed to be 😉 ?). And it snowed!!!!!! In Helsinki!! And then a week later the temperature jumped to 30 C. And this week again (after all, it is the week of the Midsummer festival), it has snowed again….

I find the terms “spring” and “snow” used in the same sentence to be jarring, but I guess at that latitude it’s par for the course.
